What you get with an accessible portable toilet
A standard portaloo has a step up, a narrow door and no room to manoeuvre, which rules it out for many wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. An accessible unit is built the other way round: you roll straight in at ground level, through a wider door, into a cubicle with enough space for a wheelchair to turn and grab rails where they are needed.
They also help parents with pushchairs, older guests, and carers who need to go in with someone. That is why we recommend at least one at every event open to the public, and why contractors add one when a worker or visitor needs it.

If your event is open to the public, disabled visitors need to be able to use the toilets as easily as everyone else. The Equality Act 2010 expects event organisers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and if your event goes through a council safety advisory group, expect to be asked how accessible toilets are covered.
For weddings, an accessible unit next to a luxury toilet trailer means older relatives and guests with limited mobility are not left out. For festivals, shows and fêtes, add accessible units to your event toilets and spread them across the site.

- Firm, level ground. Avoid slopes, soft grass and gravel. A hard standing or a well-mown, flat area works best.
- A step-free route. Keep the path clear of cable ramps, guy ropes and parked vehicles.
- Close to the action. Place accessible units near the main area, not at the far end of a toilet block.
- Lit after dark. If your event runs into the evening, make sure the unit and route are lit.
- More than one at bigger events. Spread units so nobody has a long walk, and tell us your expected numbers so we can suggest how many.
Accessible toilets for building sites
CDM 2015 requires suitable toilets for everyone working on a site. If a member of your crew or a regular visitor is a wheelchair user or has limited mobility, an accessible site toilet is the simplest way to give them proper facilities without changing the rest of your setup.
Accessible site toilets are £100 per week, with delivery priced by postcode. They sit alongside standard site toilets at £36 per week and welfare units from £200 per week, and we can put the whole site on one quote. For projects running months, long-term hire keeps the weekly rate steady.

No. Our standard event toilets are £140 with delivery included, but the £135 accessible event toilet does not include delivery. Delivery and collection are £70 per unit on top, shown clearly in your quote.
Where should an accessible toilet go?
On firm, level ground with a step-free route to it, close to the main area of your event or site. Keep the route clear of cables, ramps and parked vehicles, and make sure it is lit if the event runs after dark.
