What a shower unit needs on site
Showers need more on site than a portaloo, because they use water, heat it and drain it away. Run through these five points before you book, and tell us anything unusual when you ask for a quote.
If your site has no mains water, tell us. Depending on the area and the unit, there may be other ways to supply it, and we will tell you straight away what is possible.
- A water supply. A mains connection gives proper pressure and hot water.
- Power. For the water heater, lighting and fan, from a site supply or a generator. Some units heat with gas instead.
- Somewhere for the water to go. A nearby drain, or a waste tank that is emptied on a schedule.
- A level, firm base. Hardstanding, compacted ground or level grass, with room for the delivery vehicle.
- Close to the toilets. Near the campsite or welfare area, lit after dark, with space for people to queue.
